Magnetofection™ is a simple and highly efficient transfection method, where nucleic acids complex with iron oxide nanoparticles. This aggregate is then concentrated over target cells using a magnetic pate, and entry into the cell occurs via endocytosis and pinocytosis. The universal and powerful PolyMag transfection reagent allows you to achieve a very high transfection efficiency. PolyMag has been optimised to be used with all types of nucleic acids. It has been successfully tested with a large range of primary cells, hard to transfect cells and cell lines and its efficiency has been reported in many publications. PolyMag is highly efficient even with low doses of nucleic acids, and allows obtaining quick transfections without toxicity. PolyMag is also available fluorescently-labelled with TRITC (FluoMag-P). Applications include:
Nucleic acid delivery: DNA, oligonucleotides, mRNA, siRNA, shRNA
Mammalian cells: Cell lines, primary cells, hard to transfect
All transfections: Transient or stable, gene silencing, with or without serum
- Gene Silencing: siRNA, dsRNA, shRNA
- Mammalian cells: Cell lines, primary cells, hard to transfect
- siRNA transfections: Sequential & simultaneous transfections and endogenous gene silencing
