The Neogen® Petrifilm® Yeast and Mould Count Plate is a sample-ready culture medium system which contains nutrients supplemented with antibiotics, a cold-water-soluble gelling agent, and an indicator that facilitates yeast and mould enumeration. The Petrifilm Yeast and Mould Count Plates are used for the enumeration of yeast and mould in the food, beverage, and bottled water industries. The Petrifilm Yeast and Mould Count Plate provides results between 3 to 5 days. Yeasts are easily differentiated from moulds on the plate as yeasts are typically indicated by small, blue green colonies with defined edges and no foci, whereas moulds are indicated by large, variably colored colonies with diffuse edges and center foci.
