Metazachlor may be used as an analytical standard for the determination of metazachlor in:Natural water samples by high performance liquid chromatography-electrospray-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS). Plant foodstuffs by capillary gas chromatography equipped with electron capture detector (ECD) as well as nitrogen phosphorus detector (NPD) followed by MS analysis in electron impact ionization (EI) mode. Drinking and related waters by solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by GC-EI-MS. Wastewater samples by SPE and subsequent analysis with ultra-performance liquid chromatography combined with time of flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-TOF-MS).

General description

Metazachlor is an α-chloracetamide derivative which is widely used as a herbicide for weed control in the cultivation of crucifers such as rape.
