Reduction adapters are used in the same way as an expansion adapter, to connect two items of glassware with different joint sizes. These adapters connect items with a smaller cone to a piece of glassware with a larger size socket.
- Useful for the connection of dissimilar sized ground glass joints
- Small sized socket at the top, large sized cone at the bottom
