General description
Vials are suitable basically to inject samples from an autosampler. They are available in various sizes, although 2 mL vials are more commonly used. Autosampler needle pierces through the cap during injection and withdraws the required aliquots of sample from the vials. Amber glass vials (volume 40 mL, O.D. × H. 27.5 mm × 95 mm) are useful in preventing the sensitive analyte under investigation from exposure to UV light. The threads on the standard vials are 24-400. The phenolic cap is autoclavable and it can withstand the temperature up to 149° C. The tan PTFE/silicone septum is sized to fit screw top vials. It is suitable for use with most organics (until pierced) and is not recommended for use with chlorosilanes.
